The Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam is a compilation of lectures on Islamic philosophy delivered by Muhammad Iqbal in Madras, Hyderabad and Aligarh. Published in 1930, it gained its final chapter, "Is Religion Possible?", from the Oxford Edition of 1934 onwards.

In the book, Iqbal called for a re-examination of the intellectual foundations of Islamic philosophy. It is a major work of modern Islamic thought and had a considerable influence on the Iranian sociologist Ali Shariati and other contemporary Muslim reformers, including Tariq Ramadan.

The lectures cover knowledge and religious experience, the conception of God and the meaning of prayer, the human ego with its freedom and immortality, the spirit of Muslim culture, and the principle of movement in the structure of Islam.
